Day Trip to Niagara Falls
Going to Niagara Falls but only have a day to spend? This is a guide for you to know what to do in Niagara Falls with such a short span of time.
Niagara Falls is a group of three waterfalls (Horseshoe Falls, American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls). Horseshoe Falls is the biggest waterfall among the three and it is the only waterfall that extends from Canada and United States of America. The other 2 waterfalls are in the America side.
However, due to the fact that waterfalls are better to view from a distance, it is advisable to view the Niagara Falls at the Canada side. Therefore, this post will be focused on the Canada side of Niagara Falls.
About Canada
Canada, located in North America region, is the second largest country ranked by total area. Canada has ten provinces and three territories which extend from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean.
The currency of Canada is Canadian Dollar (CAD).
Day 1 – Niagara Falls
During the day, enjoy the beauty of Niagara Falls as you take a stroll along the Niagara walkway. To explore the Niagara Falls in a different way, take the Niagara Falls boat tour. The boat tour will bring you to the basin of the Niagara Falls where you can experience the downwash of the magnificent Horseshoe Falls.

Protect your electronics device by putting it in a waterproof bag as the waterfalls’ impact is quite strong at the basin.
At the night, enjoy the illumination of the waterfalls as hundreds of LED lights are shined onto the waterfalls. These colorful LED lighting really brings out the charm of Niagara Falls as the Niagara Falls with illumination resemble the reflection of the stars in the Niagara river.

If you have time, try the Niagara Skywheel and observe the beauty of Niagara Falls with an aerial view.
Ending Remarks
A day trip to Niagara Falls (Canadian Side) is more than sufficient to cover the attractions as it only takes around 2 hours to take photos of the Niagara Falls and slowly stroll along the Niagara walkway. However, if you are driving from a faraway city (such as New York City), it would be recommended to stay for a night to get some rest and enjoy the beauty of Niagara Falls in both day and night view.
Lastly, if you have time to spare and have a US visa, it is recommended to extend the trip by 1 more day to visit the US side and look at the Niagara Falls in a different perspective.
